Why I Believe the Great Tribulation is Close!

In 1900 there were only 40,000 Jews in all of Israel, 117 years later on Israel’s Independence Day 2017 Israel’s population stood at a record 8,680,000.

Why only 40,000 in 1900?

Leviticus 26:33 “And I will scatter you among the nations.”

Jeremiah 31:10 “He who scattered Israel”

Ezekiel 20:34 “where I have scattered you”

Isaiah 11:12 “I will scatter you to the four corners of the earth.”

If you want to know why there were so few Jewish people living in her homeland at the beginning of the last century it is because God scattered them all over the world!

So you might ask why do I think the great tribulation is so close?

Ezekiel 22 “I will gather you in My anger and in My wrath and I will lay you there and melt you. I will gather you and blow on you with the fire of My wrath, and you will be melted in the midst of it. As silver is melted in the furnace, so you will be melted in the midst of it; and you will know that I, the LORD, have poured out My wrath on you.”

Zephaniah 2 “Gather yourselves together, yes, gather, O nation without shame, Before the decree takes effect—The day passes like the chaff—Before the burning anger of the LORD comes upon you, Before the day of the LORD’S anger comes upon you.”

Ezekiel 20 “I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you from the lands where you are scattered, with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm and with wrath poured out;”

To demonstrate just how important this prophetic event is pay careful attention to what Jeremiah wrote.

Jeremiah 16:14–15 “Therefore behold, days are coming, declares the LORD, when it will no longer be said, As the LORD lives, who brought up the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt, but, As the LORD lives, who brought up the sons of Israel from the land of the north and from all the countries where He had banished them. For I will restore them to their own land which I gave to their fathers.”

Gentiles cannot fully appreciate those words unless we know something about Judaism.

Israel being brought out of Egypt is so important to the Jew they have this thing called a Passover Seder every year to commemorate what those words are all about.

The one event that all Jews consider to be the greatest miracle in their history is the deliverance of their ancestors from Egyptian captivity under the leadership of Moses.

Now follow very carefully because Jeremiah wrote, “a time will come when the Jews will look back on their history and proclaim that their regathering from the four corners of the earth — the event that began in the 20th Century will eclipse the Exodus!”

Did you know God wants this lesson we are learning preached? Do you know who needs to hear it?

Jeremiah 31:10, “Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd does his flock.”

The nations, the gentile nations need to hear it now–then do you know why they don’t?

The average gentile Christian has no appreciation for what we just learned because Israel and the Jew is not very important in most pulpits.

The vast majority of Christianity, the vast majority of theology has accepted the fact that God is through with Israel, the church is the new Israel and even in churches like our own the only time churches hear what we are learning this morning is when Jews for Jesus, or Chosen People Ministries, or Friends of Israel, or the Christian Jew foundation are invited.

Zechariah 13:8 “it will come about in all the land, declares the LORD, that two parts in it will be cut off and perish;”   Two thirds of the people will die in the land. Do you remember what Jesus said in Matthew 24 was the sign of His coming? The great tribulation.

Do you remember what Zechariah chapter 14 is all about? The second coming of Jesus, and what proceeds that, two thirds of the Jewish people will be killed.

Now here comes look among the nations! Observe! Be astonished! Wonder! Because I am doing something in your days—You would not believe if you were told.

Follow me, there are 14 million Jews in the world and two thirds is how many, a little over 9 million. Listen, there are already 8 million in the land, that’s astonishing when you consider there were only 40,000 in 1900.

God is doing something in our day–you say what is he doing? He is regathering His people for the great tribulation.

Do you know what this means? This means we’re getting closer, and listen, if we are getting closer to the great tribulation how much closer are we to the rapture because the bible teaches the rapture occurs before the great tribulation. Are you rapture ready have you repented and believed the gospel? Do you even know what the gospel is?
